Alabama wrapped up a big day in the NFL Draft with a new SEC record. Coming into Saturday with five selections, seven more former Crimson Tide players heard their name called on Day three, giving Alabama 12 total of 12 selections, the most ever by any SEC school in the modern draft era. Alabama tied the record last year with 10 selections.

The 12 selections this year were the most by any school. N.C. State, Ohio State and LSU finished in second with seven apiece.

Minkah Fitzpatrick (No. 11, Miami Dolphins), Da’Ron Payne (No. 13, Washington Redskins), Rashaan Evans (No. 22, Tennessee Titans) and Calvin Ridley (No. 26, Atlanta Falcons) got things started for Alabama as all four went in the first round on Thursday. The four first rounders tied an SEC record which Alabama also reached in 2011, 2012 and 2017.

Ronnie Harrison was the Crimson Tide’s lone selection during Day 2 as he had to wait until the No. 93 pick overall in the third round on Friday night before being selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Alabama then went out with a bang as Da’Shawn Hand (No. 114, Detroit Lions), Anthony Averett (No. 118, Baltimore Ravens), JK Scott (No. 172, Green Bay Packers), Shaun Dion Hamilton (No. 197, Washington Redskins), Bradley Bozeman (No. 215, Baltimore Ravens), Bo Scarbrough (No. 236, Dallas Cowboys) and Joshua Frazier (No. 246, Pittsburgh Steelers) rounded out the draft class on Saturday.

Bozeman’s selection tied Alabama’s previous school record late in the sixth round, while Scarbrough brought a cheer to the Cowboys fans inside of AT&T Stadium when he helped the Crimson Tide break the SEC record in the seventh round. Ten picks later, Frazier served as the final exclamation point on what has been a big three days for the Crimson Tide.

Earlier in the draft, Hamilton’s selection made waves as it signified that all 11 of Alabama’s defensive starters for its 2016 season-opener have now been drafted. That’s not counting Evans, Hand and Averett who came into the game as backups.

Following the draft, two more former Alabama players reportedly signed deals with NFL teams. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, cornerback Tony Brown signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. Meanwhile, AL.com reported receiver Robert Foster signed with the Buffalo Bills. Along with those two, starting cornerback Levi Wallace and starting receiver Cam Sims also went undrafted.
