No. 1 Alabama used another dominant offensive performance in Week 3 as it blew by Colorado State 41-23. The Crimson Tide’s balanced attack saw it put up 239 yards on the ground while racking up another 248 through the air. That helped mask a less than stellar defensive performance as Alabama allowed its most points to date this season.

Here’s a look at how Alabama graded out position by position:

In one of the better performances of his career, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts led the Tide’s attack on offense. The sophomore completed 12 of 17 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns while leading the team in rushing with 103 yards and another score on 11 carries.

After leading Alabama to the down the field on its opening drive, Hurts tucked the ball and ran 27 yards untouched to the end zone to put the Tide on the board. On Alabama’s next possession, the quarterback hit Calvin Ridley on a slant route, allowing the receiver to jet down the field for a 78-yard touchdown. Hurts added a third touchdown just before the half, hitting Robert Foster on a curl route that the receiver broke for a 52-yard touchdown.

The three touchdowns give Hurts 43 on his career, bringing him into a tie with Trent Richardson for seventh place on the school’s all-time touchdowns list.

Backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa also came into the game late in the third quarter but made little impact, completing one of his four passes for no yards.
