T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada is set to host one of the biggest boxing events in recent memory with Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor scheduled for 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 26.

ICYMI: Breaking down the ranked teams in Alabama's schedule

The tale of the tape reads Mayweather age 40 with a net worth of reportedly $650 million at 49-0 going up against McGregor age 28 worth $22 million and with a record of 21-3 in MMA. The fight on PPV should draw in hundreds of thousands of curious boxing and non-boxing fans in a 2017 effort to revive the sport of boxing.

It’s tough to gauge if Saturday’s PPV price of $88.95 is worth spending as you never know if a boxing or mama fight will deliver, but the Alabama vs. Florida State game slated for primetime TV next Saturday at 7 p.m. is likely a can’t miss thriller and Vegas odds makers have already set the field for wagers.

Don't miss: Alabama ranked No. 1 in AP Top 25

Both the Coaches Poll as well as the AP Top 25 preseason rankings have Alabama ranked at No. 1 and Florida State at No. 3 with Ohio State at No. 2. Alabama coming off a four point loss to Clemson in last year’s National Championship game returns 6 offensive starters and 5 defensive starters, including the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in now Sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Florida State a very formidable opponent, was 10-3 last year, ending the year beating Michigan in the Orange Bow 33-32 returns six offensive starters from last year and nine defensive starters including a sophomore quarterback in Deondre Francois who passed for an incredible 3,350-yards with 20-touchdowns as a freshman. By the way, we’ll have a very deep game preview of Alabama vs. Florida State next week.

The opening line between No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 3 Florida State was set at -4. Today, the line stands at Alabama -7. The over/under for the game was set at a total of 49 points. Also worth noting is the fact that Alabama Football Coach Nick Saban is 8-1 against the spread in season openers.

So, if you’re thinking of placing a bet on Alabama in the opener straight up, you might feel a little bit better about taking Alabama, but if you look at the over/under records for 2016, Alabama was 7-8 and only went over the projected total 46.7% of the time. Remember the over/under for the Alabama/Florida State game is set at 49 total points.
