Today, we open the week with a three, two, one series, which we’ll provide three things we learned, ask two questions, and make one prediction.

Alabama is now 3-0 on the season as they head into their first SEC game of the season this weekend against 3-0 Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 1 in the Coaches Poll as well as the Top 25 and they are coming off an 18 point win over Colorado State where the offense racked up 487-yards of total offense.

 Three Things We Have Learned

1. Jalen Hurts is balling out

Threw the first three games of the season, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts is 36 of 53 passing (67.9%) for 472-yards, with four touchdowns, and zero interceptions, for a quarterback rating of 167.6. On the ground, the dual-threat quarterback has 312-yards and three touchdowns, for a grand total of 784-yards with seven touchdowns in just three games. There is no question his deep ball accuracy needs to improve, but face it, this offense is predicated on his ability to simply make plays.

2. Offense has shown balance but lacks identity

Alabama’s offense so far this season has shown a good balance of both run and pass, Saturday against Colorado State, Alabama threw for 248-yards and rushed for 239-yards. Despite scoring 35.3 points per game this season and averaging 417-yards per game it still feels like this offense lacks a true identity and the offense is moving the football because of talent rather than a game plan. Most of their touchdowns have come from quick-strike scoring drives and we have yet to see a running back hit the 100-yard mark this season. Maybe a balanced offensive attack that is able to score quickly is this year’s theme?
