On Monday, Rivals refreshed its class of 2026 rankings.

In the new rankings, Tennessee football held one five-star commit in Faizon Brandon. He is the No. 2 overall player in the class and top quarterback in the cycle.

However, Brandon may not be alone as five-star commits to the Vols for long. Current four-star wide receiver commit Tyreek King has the chance to join him sooner than later.

King is currently the No. 28 player in the class, No. 2 in the state of Tennessee and No. 1 slot receiver.

Out of Knoxville Catholic, just miles from UT, King will be competing Rivals Five-Star, a camp that could help push him to five-star status.

Rivals' National Recruiting Analyst Adam Gorney said this on King:

"At slot receiver, Tennessee commit Tyreek King, Georgia pledge Vance Spafford and Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech’s CJ Sadler remain the top three but none have punched through to five-star status – yet," Gorney wrote. "King and Spafford have already signed up for Rivals Five-Star and can earn that extra star with a huge performance there."

Currently, the five-star cut off is 23 players down the list of recruits. This makes King one of the top four-stars in the class.

In the 2025 cycle, there were 32 five-stars. If the crop of talent is that deep in 2026, King's current position would give him that coveted fifth star.

This talk around King being a five-star talent isn't new, either. The month prior, Gorney shared a similar sentiment on King's potential to make the leap.

"The Tennessee commit is so, so fast. He’s electric off the line of scrimmage, he’s dynamic through his route, he knows how to set up defenders and then he can burn anybody deep," Gorney wrote.

"King also has great hands, he plays with toughness and after having more than 1,000 receiving yards in his junior season, he’s gone to numerous events this offseason and has looked fantastic.

"What more could we want to see?"

Along with Brandon and King, Tennessee holds commitments from five other prospects. The other in the Rivals250 rankings is tight end Carson Sneed at No. 111.

A four-star outside of the Rivals250 is in-state lineman Gabriel Osenda. Three-stars in the boat are linebacker Braylon Outlaw, edge rusher CJ Edwards and wide receiver Tyran Evans.

The Vols also recently lost the commitment of four-star defensive end Tyson Bacon.
