In unsurprising news, former Texas A&M and Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson is officially back in the transfer portal.
Hudson played his true freshman season with the Red Raiders under head coach Joey McGuire. However, after seeing limited playing time with Texas Tech, Hudson entered the transfer portal in December of 2024.
He committed to Texas A&M on Dec. 15, 2024. However, his stint with the Aggies was short. Head coach Mike Elko confirmed in March that Hudson was no longer with the program.
Hudson will have three years of eligibility left, plus a redshirt if he needs to use it.
After battling injuries heading into the 2024 campaign, the 6-foot, 195-pound Hudson appeared in eight games for the Red Raiders this past season. He recorded eight catches for 123 yards.
According to Pro Football Focus, Hudson played 87 offensive snaps in total, and received an overall offensive grade of 66.0. He also played 20 snaps on special teams.
Hudson was a five-star wide receiver prospect out of Lake Belton High School in Texas in the 2024 class. He ranked in the top-10 in the country, checking as the No. 9 recruit overall in the 2024 cycle. He also ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Texas and the No. 4 wide receiver in the class.
In high school, Hudson finished his prep career with 202 catches for 3,868 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns. He also totaled 1,243 rushing yards and an additional 11 scores. As a senior at Lake Belton, he recorded 70 catches for 1,353 yards and 18 touchdowns. Hudson received well over 30 scholarship offers as a high school recruit.
