Don't miss! Taulia Tagovailoa talks Alabama commitment

Jayson Jones, 2020 defensive tackle from Calera High School in Alabama, has been to Tuscaloosa a few times this spring. He returned on Saturday for A-Day.

"Even though I've been down there so many times they treat me the same way," Jones said. "The players are also fun to talk to.

"I spoke with Raekwon Davis, Quinnen Williams and Isaiah Buggs. They are funny people. Raekwon was saying how he wants me to come down there. They were all cracking on each other."

Jones spent more time with Coach Nick Saban, Coach Craig Kuligowski, Coach Brent Key and Coach Tosh Lupoi. He also spent time with a few Crimson Tide commitments. Pierce Quick has become one of the ring leaders in helping build the 2019 class.

"Most definitely," he replied when asked if Quick spent any time trying to recruit him. "Daz (Dazalin Worsham) and Paul (Tyson) did as well. They are all great people."

The elite in-state prospect had named another SEC school the favorite for the last few months. A little bit has changed.

"Alabama and Georgia are now tied for No. 1," Jones said. "Georgia is lacking communication. What stands out to me about Alabama is the respect they give me."

Jones posted on Saturday, "May be committing sooner than July 4th stay tuned."

He followed up the post on Sunday, "This week has been a confusing week so far.. I AM COMMITTING JULY 4TH.. said and done.. I talked to my family about it and it’s the right decision for all of us, family comes first. If you have any questions, feel free to ask."

"Talking to my family-I didn’t want all the interviews and stuff coming at me during finals," he said. "I feel like I shouldn’t change."
