Alabama will need to hire its fourth offensive coordinator in three years as Brian Daboll accepted the same position with the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday.
Today, we provide our Alabama offensive coordinator hot board version 2.0 with some new names.
The Candidates
Hugh Freeze
Current Position: Former Head Coach at Ole Miss
Why this makes sense: Freeze who was seen at the Mal Moore Complex in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Monday, January 15 is the former head coach at Ole Miss where he led the Rebels to a record of 39-25. At Ole Miss, Freeze led the Rebels to the Peach Bowl in 2014 and to the Sugar Bowl in 2015 and led Ole Miss to two victories over Alabama during the 2014 and 2015 season.
Why this might not work out: Freeze resigned from Ole Miss after being given an option to resign or be fired for violating the moral clause if his contract. If Freeze is not up for the offensive coordinator position, expect him to be a candidate as an offensive analyst “Behind the scenes” type guy for the Crimson Tide in 2018.
Current Pay: $4,925,000 at Ole Miss
