Alabama will need to hire its fourth offensive coordinator in three years as Brian Daboll accepted the same position with the Buffalo Bills, the team announced Sunday. We have compiled an early list of potential candidates. Read more on Daboll leaving here
The Candidates
Mike Locksley
Current Position: Co-Offensive Coordinator/Receivers Coach at Alabama
Why this makes sense: Locksley joined Alabama in 2017 after being an analyst for the Crimson Tide during the 2016 season. Locksley worked with former Alabama offensive coordinator Brian Daboll all season long to help the Crimson Tide post an average of 444.1-yards per game (29th in the country). Locksley showed great development with the receivers and continued to groom NFL bound Calvin Ridley. He has over 20-years of experience, coached at Maryland, Illinois, and New Mexico. Known as an elite recruiter, Locksley deserves a shot to take sole command of the Crimson Tide offense.
Why this might not work: If Locksley was offered, it would be hard to imagine he would turn it down, recent reports have surfaced that he could take the same position at Florida State.
Current Pay: $600,000
