TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama’s offensive line had another member earn national recognition Friday as Seth McLaughlin was included on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top center. Earlier this week, offensive linemen J.C. Latham and Tyler Booker were included on the Outland Trophy watch list.
McLaughlin made eight starts over 11 appearances last season. According to Pro Football Focus, the 6-foot-4, 301-pound lineman earned a 75.0 pass-blocking grade as well as a 72.2 run-blocking mark.
“He’s a great dude,” former Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Steen said last season. “He’s going to get the job done at any cost, and he really has that great mindset that he’s going to try to get the job done.”
Alabama has produced three Rimington Trophy winners since the award was established in 2000. Barrett Jones was the first to achieve the honor in 2012 and was followed by Ryan Kelly (2015) and Landon Dickerson (2020).
