One of Tennessee basketball's top targets in the 2025 class has reopened his recruitment.
Five-star shooting guard Darius Adams, who previously signed with UConn, is reopening his commitment and asking to be released from his NLI.
Before committing to the Huskies on September 30, 2024, he listed the Vols and Michigan State has finalists. He told Joe Tipton that his recruitment is 'wide open,' though.

Adams took an official visit to Knoxville to see Tennessee on September 13, less than a month before making his decision.
During the summer tour of schools, he also took official visits to UConn, Michigan State, Alabama and NC State.
After his commitment to the Huskies, Rob Cassidy of Rivals said this on what he brings to the table:
"The 6-foot-5 guard has one of the most reliable shooting strokes in the 2025 class and also comes equipped with the ability to create his own shot from almost anywhere on the floor thanks to a confident handle, an attacking mentality and a high basketball IQ. For now, Adams goes as his jumper goes but he has the length and lateral quickness to be a high-level defender as he adds weight and gets more motivated on that end of the floor down the road. He’s added some additional muscle over the past year but still has a ways to go on that front. Adams possesses a number of translatable skills that should result in more consistent production as he beefs up, as he has the quickness, length and motor to be solid positional rebounder in addition to his gifts as a shooter and a ball handler."
Adams was a McDonald's All American at the beginning of the month, playing 12 minutes in the showcase. He grabbed four rebounds and passed for three assists in the game but did not record a point.
Currently, Tennessee has three signees in the 2025 class. The highest-rated commit is four-star Amari Evans who joins as a wing. Three-star DeWayne Brown II is a forward and unrated Troy Henderson is a point guard.
The Vols are also making a strong push down the stretch for forward Nate Ament. The No. 4 overall player in the class is a forward.
Guards on the Vols' roster include returning former four-star guard Bishop Boswell and incoming Maryland transfer Ja'Kobi Gillespie. Tennessee is also pursuing Rodney Rice out of Maryland who is currently finalizing his decision after a string of visits including one to Knoxville the previous weekend.
