Alabama basketball checked in at No. 6 in the Associated Press Poll on Monday. The Crimson Tide dropped two spots after a loss to then-No. 15 Missouri last Wednesday with a win over then-No. 17 Kentucky on Saturday.
The Tide (22-5, 11-2 SEC) also checked in at No. 6 US LBM Coaches poll ahead of its next two SEC matchups. Alabama will play a rematch against No. 24 Mississippi State on Tuesday before a road trip to Knoxville, Tennessee to face the No. 5 Volunteers on Saturday.
Auburn kept its spot at the top of the AP Poll this week. The Tigers (25-2, 13-1) defeated Arkansas and Georgia last week after their victory over Alabama last Saturday.
Duke checked in at No. 2 in the polls after a win over Virginia and a February non-conference clobbering of Illinois on Saturday inside Madison Square Garden.
Florida flipped places with Duke this week, landing at No. 3 after wins over Oklahoma and LSU last week. Houston took Alabama's place at No. 4. The Cougars (23-4, 19-1 Big 12) are running away with the lead in the Big 12 and picked up a big win over then-No. 8 Iowa State on Saturday.
Tennessee rounded out the top five following a big road win over then-No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday. The Volunteers will play LSU on Tuesday before hosting Alabama on Saturday inside Thompson-Boling Arena.
After responding to its two-game losing skid with its second win over the Wildcats, Alabama will look to replicate that form against Mississippi State. The two teams played earlier this season with the Tide taking down the Bulldogs 88-84 on Jan. 29 inside Humphery Coliseum. The rematch is set for 8 p.m. CT Tuesday inside Coleman Coliseum. The game will be televised on ESPN 2.
