Alabama will try to keep special teams special
The two biggest turning points in Alabama’s 24-7 win over Florida State last week were made by players that should come as no surprise — Damien Harris and Minkah Fitzpatrick. However, it’s where the two stars stepped up that’s a bit unusual.
Fitzpatrick, a preseason All-American safety, made his biggest impact last week when he came bursting through the line to block a field goal as the half expired. Harris, a 1,000-yard rusher last season, led the team in rushing with 73 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. However, his most important contribution came when he shot up the middle to block a punt in the third quarter.
