Tate Ratledge, 2020 offensive tackle from Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, earned a scholarship offer from Nick Saban following his performance at the Crimson Tide's camp on Monday.

"The camp was really good," Ratledge said. "It was a lot of fun. It was good to work with Coach Key. He is a very good coach. He would always correct me on things I did wrong. He would work with me to fix it.

"Coach Saban offered me in his office. He told me to keep working. He said don’t let all this go to my head even thought I'm young. I can be above everyone right now, but have to keep working. Don’t let anyone pass me up."

The trip to Tuscaloosa was a first time experience for Ratledge.

"It was very exciting," he said. "It was my first time going down there. I got a brief tour of the facilities when I first got down there. We may go back later in the summer or in the fall to see the rest of the campus.

What impression will he take with him from Alabama?

"I like the history they have and the experience the coaches have," Ratledge said. "They have really nice facilities. I know the education part is one of the best in the nation."

Ratledge has offers offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Louisville, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. He has visited Georgia several times, and the Bulldogs are considered an early favorite.
