John Dixon, 2019 wide receiver from Wharton High School in Tampa, Florida, needed just one day to impress Alabama. He traveled with his 7-on-7 team to Tuscaloosa to participate in Alabama's camp on Monday.

"Nick Saban was the one who offered me," Dixon said. "I had a really good camp. I then went to his office. He said he already watched my film. He said I competed really well with everyone.

"I was surprised. I didn't think they would offer me. I felt like I did good out there. I had a good day. Nobody caught anything on me."

This is not the first time Dixon has camped in Tuscaloosa.

"I have been to Alabama before," he said. "Nick Saban and I laughed about a picture from a while back. I think I was 10 years old. I came to Alabama and worked out as a running back. I came back as a defensive back."

How was the return trip to the Capstone?

"I worked out with Coach Ansley throughout the day," Dixon said. "He was fun. He would always come up to me and tell me what to do."

The Crimson Tide made a strong impression with the Sunshine State product.

"I like everything about Alabama," Dixon said. "They have good facilities. Everything is nice. I like the coaches. They taught me some new coverage I had never learned before. The plan is to get back for a game this fall."

Dixon has scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida, Maryland, South Carolina and South Florida. His top two are Alabama and Florida. He does not plan to make a decision any time soon.
