Collins was the first selection of round two, the No. 33 overall selection, drafted by the New York Giants.
Collins played in 41 games for Alabama, starting 23 in each of the past two seasons. He totaled a team-high 103 tackles during Alabama's 13-2 campaign in 2015.
Collins is considered a strong safety at the next level whose strength is in helping in the run game. For the second year in a row, an Alabama safety was picked in the first round. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was taken by the Green Bay Packers in Round 1 in 2014.
