On Tuesday, Alabama Athletics released the numbers of Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban's new contract numbers.
Saban’s contract was extended three years and will run through Jan. 31, 2025.
He will receive the same annual salary of $6.725 million with a base salary of $240,000 and a talent fee of $6.48 million. There will be a contract extension signing incentive of $4 million with an additional $4 million spread out through the 2020 (10 percent), 2021 (10 percent) and 2022 (80 percent) years of the contract.That means Saban’s new contract will net him roughly 11.15 million in 2017, 7.15 million in 2018, 7.55 million in 2019 and 2020 and 10.35 million in 2021, an average of 8.75 million over the next five years.
His salary will remain at 6.9, but he gets a $4 million signing bonus (to be paid within 30-days) and is signed through January 31, 2025.
With Saban's 4M signing bonus for the 2017 season Saban who is 114-19 at Alabama since 2007 will earn a total of $11.15M making him the highest paid coach in college football.
