Collin Duncan, 2019 three-star cornerback from St. James High School in Montgomery, Alabama, did not earn an offer from the Crimson Tide this week. The offer might come later.

The University of Alabama will evaluate closely this fall with a strong possibility of landing an offer from the in-state powerhouse.

"I thought I had a pretty successful camp on Monday at Alabama," Duncan said. "I was just there for one day. They worked me out at cornerback. I thought I did pretty good.

"I definitely learned a lot of stuff especially with Coach Saban-a lot of hands on type of stuff. I learned a lot. I tried to pick his brain as much as possible. I tried to pick up new ways to cover the wide receiver. I thought I did well.

"I got very good feedback from Coach Ansley and Coach Saban while I was there. It's the second time I've gone to their camp. It's been nothing but praise from them. They said I am getting better and looking really good. They like how I am able to move around at my size."

So what did Duncan think of the camp in Tuscaloosa?

"I like the intensity the coaches give off," he said. "Instead of just working with assistants you get hands on coaching with the head coach. That's what I like. You get coached by the master-mind behind the defense and behind Alabama.

"It's great to pick his brain and learn as much as possible. The intensity and competition that Alabama brings to the table every time I go there is really great. There is just more and more competition every time I go."

The junior likes several things about Alabama.

"The facilities are great," Duncan said. "They are top-notch facilities. One of the tops in the nation. I love the coaching staff. I love the ability to be able to go to your coaches any time of the day and ask what do I need to work on. I can ask for advice.

"I really love how open the coaches are. They told you straight up you need to work on this or you are good on that. They tell you that you are doing well, but need to keep working. I liked how they reached out to the kids and the way they teach."

The 6-foot-1, 183-pound defensive back has offers from South Carolina and Vanderbilt. His older brother, C.J., plays for the Commodores. He is hearing from several other schools including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Tennessee. He will participate in Florida's Friday Night Lights camp this week.

"Alabama told me they are close to offering me," he said. "I am just a big SEC fan. I didn't have a favorite school growing up. There were some teams who I just loved watching their defenses like LSU, Florida and Alabama, but I never had a certain team I cheered for growing up.

"My brother (C.J.) is at Vanderbilt University. He has always pushed me hard to be the best player I can possibly be and to conquer my dreams. My dream has always been to play in the SEC."
