Throughout the season quarterbacks, skill position players and even a few defenders dominate the headlines. The draft is one of the few times every year that tackles get their due.

20 for 20: Who will be Alabama's third receiver next season?
Four tackles, including Alabama’s Jedrick Wills Jr., appear to have separated themselves from the rest of the pack as clear-cut first-rounders. If the New York Giants take a tackle with their first pick, as many suspect, then Wills or one of his competitors could be the fourth overall player to hear their name called on Thursday.
“(Iowa left tackle Tristan) Wirfs for a long time is what I’ve heard there," NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said of the fourth overall pick. "And as we come down the home stretch I’m beginning to think it’s going to be Jedrick Wills. So that’s what I expect to happen there in the first round.”
Those two seem to be the early favorites to be the first tackle taken, but Louisville tackle Mehki Becton and Georgia tackle Andrew Thomas are in the mix as well.
Jeremiah said he sees Becton and Wills as his top options, in that order. Then there's a little gap between that pair and Wirfs. It would appear Jeremiah isn't quite as high on Thomas as other analysts.
Still, only one of these guys can go first. Should it be Wills? If he's not the best, is he a clear-cut second choice? I dug into some of the numbers below.
