Alabama stays atop both major national polls
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama once again retained its spot atop both major national polls released Sunday following its 41-23 victory over Colorado State.
Alabama leads the Associated Press Top 25, earning 45 of 61 first-place votes. The Crimson Tide is followed by No. 2 Clemson (15 first-place votes), No. 3 Oklahoma (one first-place vote), No. 4 Penn State and No. 5 Southern California.
In the Coaches Poll, Alabama received 59 of 65 possible first-place votes to earn the top spot. No. 2 Clemson earned the other six votes. Oklahoma finished No. 3 and was followed by No. 4 Penn State and No. 5 Southern California.
Six SEC teams were represented in the AP Top 25 with No.1 Alabama leading the way followed by, No. 11 Georgia, No. 15 Auburn, No. 17 Mississippi State, No. 20 Florida and No. 25 LSU.
The same six SEC teams are in the Coaches Poll as No. 1 Alabama leads the way followed by No. 12 Georgia, No. 16 Auburn, No. 19 Mississippi State, No. 22 Florida and No. 23 LSU.
Alabama will travel to Vanderbilt at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday.
