Will Anderson named SEC Defensive Player of the Year by AP

For the second year in a row, Alabama linebacker Will Anderson was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press. The Georgia native was a unanimous selection to the AP All-SEC team and was one of nine players selected to the first or second team.

Anderson was joined on the first team with offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor Jr., defensive lineman Byron Young and cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry. Quarterback Bryce Young, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, kicker Will Reichard and defensive backs Jordan Battle and Brian Branch were all named to the second team.
