Alabama will be represented by center Bradley Bozeman, wide receiver Calvin Ridley and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick next week during SEC Media Days, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Alabama will participate on Day 3 of the annual media event held at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham - Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala., from July 10-13. Head coach Nick Saban will lead things off Wednesday morning, taking the podium at 9:05 a.m. The trio of Tide players will then be made available until 12:05 p.m.
Bozeman will be the Tide’s only senior representative at the event. The Roanoke, Ala. earned the starting job at center last fall and started all 15 games for the Crimson Tide on its way to a national championship appearance. Bozeman helped the Alabama’s offense lead the SEC in scoring offense with 38.8 points per game. His blocking helped clear the way for 11 100-yard rushing games and allowed the Tide to rush for 245 yards per game.
Ridley led Alabama with 72 receptions last season tallying 769 yards and seven touchdowns through the air. The performance helped him earn second-team All-SEC honors. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver broke the single-season freshman record for receiving yards with 1,045 yards in 2015. As Alabama looks to add to its passing game this season, many predict Ridley to return to that level entering his junior year this season.
Fitzpatrick, a junior, will serve as one of the leaders on Alabama’s defense this season after earning unanimous All-American honors last year. The 6-foot-1, 201-pound defensive back led Alabama in interceptions with six last season, returning two for touchdowns. He also tallied 66 tackles and seven pass breakups.
Last year, Alabama was represented by seniors Jonathan Allen, Eddie Jackson and O.J. Howard. All three were selected in this year’s NFL Draft.
