One of the most surprising transfer portal entries so far this spring occurred when former five-star David Stone showed up in the transfer portal Friday evening.

The top ranked defensive tackle and No. 5 overall prospect in the 2024 Rivals250 had a solid start to his career at Oklahoma this past fall.

The transfer portal has not treated Oklahoma well this offseason. The Sooner have lost more than 20 players, many of the significant contributors, to the portal. Stone had been getting his fair share of praise this offseason for the development he has shown.

Stone cannot transfer to another SEC school due to a conference rules prohibiting intra-conference transfers during the spring portal window.

This past season, Stone played in every game, recording seven quarterback pressures, one sacks, six total tackles, and two tackles for a loss.
