Shawn Jennings, three-star safety from Dadeville High School in Ala., will join the Crimson Tide in January as an early enrollee. He took an official visit to Alabama this past weekend.
"The visit went good," said Jennings. "I had a lot of fun. It was really good having one-on-one time with the coaches and talking to them about everything. I had a good time.
"My host was Joshua McMillon. I hung out with him and a few of the other guys. They were just telling me not to rush things. They told me to stay patient and study the plays. The plays are tough to learn. They said to be ready before practice starts."
Jennings enjoyed the time spent with the coaching staff including new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt.
"It was good to chat with Coach Saban about where his mind is on everything," Jennings said. "It was nice to be around the coaches. They are telling me I can play dime, nickel or safety. Coach Saban said he really likes my athletic ability. He doesn't know if I will play offense or defense, but I think I will end up playing defense.
"I got a chance to chat with Coach Pruitt. He is pretty cool. He is laid back. He can talk to anyone. He is very talkative and really nice. He knows what he is looking for. He knows a lot about Alabama's defense. He is coming back home."
The Dadeville star suffered a broken knee cap early in his senior season. He has been in rehab and will receive extensive treatment when he arrives in Tuscaloosa next month.

"I am ready to get there," Jennings said. "I will get there on January 9. My rehab has been going good. It's day-by-day. I go back in two weeks to check on everything. I am just exercising right now. I don't have a time-frame yet as to when I will start running again."
His thoughts on Alabama heading into the college football playoffs?
"I think we are going all the way!"
