Free Preview: Castille leaning heavily to Bama

Briarwood Christian (Ala.) running back Tim Castille is widely considered one of the nation’s elite athletes and has over 30 division-one scholarship offers. Despite all of the national attention he has received, he has named the University of Alabama the strong favorite to land his signature.
“Alabama is my favorite. I’m so familiar with the University, it’s like a second family to me,” Castille said. “I love the campus, tradition, and facilities, really everything about Alabama.”

Castille, 5-foot-11, 220-pounds, indicated that one of most attractive qualities for him with Alabama is the current coaching staff.
“I have a great personal relationship with the football coaches,” he said. “We talk about a lot of things, not just football.”
As might be expected the Crimson Tide head coach Dennis Franchione has made a positive impact.
“Coach Fran has been great. He has been so positive about the situation they are in and he continues to bring in good talent,” Castille said. “I have no doubt that he is going to turn things around and I want to be part of that. Who wouldn’t?”
So is a commitment in the near future for the talented tailback?
“I still have some looking around to do but I wouldn’t mind making my decision early,” he said. “I will probably look to commit sometime before my senior season is over.”
Castille, who has been on the recruiting watch list since his impressive varsity showing as an 8th grader, plans to visit the Capstone for the Tide’s one-day mini-camp that will be held Saturday July 13th.
Tennessee, LSU, Georgia Tech and Virginia (all have offered) round out the top five for the nationally rated prospect.
With a 3.0 GPA, he is expected to be a full qualifier.
