Four-star OL attends Junior Day

Jalil Irvin, four-star offensive guard from Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, was one of several top prospects in Tuscaloosa on Saturday for Junior Day.

"It was good," Irvin said. "I enjoyed it. I talked to Coach Key and Coach Ansley most of the time. The facilities are really nice. This was my first time going there.

"The coaching staff stood out to me. I liked the players' panel. They told us how it was there. Coach Cochran is funny. He is a funny guy. I just really enjoyed the trip. The facilities were top-notch. My mom and one of my friends went with me."

Irvin has 15 scholarship offers including Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Pitt, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. He hopes to add one in the future from Alabama.

"The coaches were asking how I was doing," he said. "Coach Ansley said hopefully I would leave with some good news. I didn't get offered yesterday. Maybe next time. I think they are really interested in me.

"I like the coaches and the tradition. I like Coach Saban and what he produces off the field. They had 10 freshmen on the All-SEC academic team."

The Peach State product is likely to attend Junior Day at North Carolina, Tennessee and possibly Florida.
