BamaOnLine.com wishes a happy Fourth of July to all with a look at some of the fireworks that have happened on the gridiron for the Crimson Tide. BOL went back five years for this compilation of every touchdown of 50 yards or more scored by Alabama since 2003. There have been 21 of them over that stretch. *** Javier Arenas returns a punt 61 yards for a touchdown against LSU, sparking the Crimson Tide to a second-half lead.
*** Wide receiver D.J. Hall pulls in a 67-yard touchdown reception down the right sideline, also against LSU, in a heart-breaking loss at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
2006
*** Lionel Mitchell closed out the scoring with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown against visiting Duke, making a hard-fought game look easier than it was in a 30-14 UA win.
*** D.J. Hall makes a 78-yard touchdown grab as Alabama took an early 7-3 lead in John Parker Wilson's first career SEC road start at Arkansas, an eventual overtime loss.
*** Arenas bolts 65 yards for a touchdown on a punt return against Florida International, the first touchdown return of his Crimson Tide career in a 38-3 UA win.
*** Linebacker Prince Hall staked UA to a 7-0 lead in Gainesville with a 50-yard fumble return for a score in the Swamp, but the Gators rebounded for a 28-13 home win.
*** Wide receiver Nikita Stover broke free for a 52-yard touchdown catch over the middle in the Iron Bowl, a 22-15 AU win at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
*** Arenas breaks a tackle and bursts 86 yards for a touchdown on a punt return against Oklahoma State in an Independence Bowl loss to the Cowboys.
2005
*** Tyrone Prothro reels in an 87-yard touchdown catch from Brodie Croyle to open the scoring at Bryant-Denny Stadium against Florida, a 31-3 UA win.
*** Also against the visiting Gators, Keith Brown turns a quick slant into a 61-yard touchdown that helped break open Alabama's signature win of that season.
*** Keith Brown opens the scoring in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl with another short catch turned long, a 76-yard touchdown on a screen pass against Texas Tech.
2004
*** Keith Brown reels in a 57-yard touchdown pass from Croyle in the season opener against Utah State as the Crimson Tide rolled 48-17.
*** Running back Ray Hudson rips off a 63-yard touchdown run against Arkansas, but it was the lone highlight of the day in a 27-10 loss to the Razorbacks.
*** Tyrone Prothro punctuates an easy win over Kentucky with a 100-yard kickoff return for a score in a 45-17 win.
2003
*** Defensive back Charlie Peprah takes an interception 51 yards for a score in the season opener against South Florida, a 40-17 Alabama win.
*** Running back Shaud Williams rumbles 54 yards for a touchdown against Northern Illinois, but it comes in one of UA's darkest days, a 19-16 loss to NIU.
*** Wide receiver Dre Fulgham makes a 71-yard touchdown catch from Croyle in the third quarter against Arkansas, the longest score of his UA career.
*** Shaud Williams follows Fulgham with an 80-yard scoring run later in the same quarter, but Arkansas pulled out a 34-31 win in overtime.
*** Wide receiver Zach Fletcher makes an 86-yard touchdown reception from Brodie Croyle to open the scoring in a 38-0 win over Mississippi State.
*** Return specialist Brandon Brooks takes a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in the Iron Bowl, a 28-23 win for the Tigers.
*** Safety Roman Harper returns a missed field goal 73 yards for a touchdown against host Hawaii to end the season. UH eventually won 37-29.
