Dylan Moses, Henry Ruggs III make SEC All-Freshman team
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama landed two players on the SEC All-Freshman team, the conference announced Thursday. Linebacker Dylan Moses was named to defense, while receiver Henry Ruggs III was named as a return specialist.
Through 11 games Moses tallied 30 tackles, 5.5 for a loss, with 1.5 sacks. He also had an interception and a forced fumble. The linebacker’s best game came during his first career start against Mercer where he recorded 11 tackles, four for a loss with an interception. Moses was a former five-star recruit and was rated as the No. 2 outside linebacker and No. 32 player overall in the 2017 class.
Ruggs tallied seven receptions for 175 yards and a team-high five touchdowns. The first five catches of his career were for touchdowns, including a season-long 60-yard score against Tennessee. Ruggs returned eight punts for a combined total of 46 yards (5.75 yards per return). He also returned 10 kickoffs for a total of 191 yards (19.10 yards per return). Ruggs came to Alabama as a four-star recruit and was rated as the No. 19 receiver and No. 125 in overall in the 2017 class.
