Derrick Pope Commits To Bama
"They offered back in the Spring and I accepted on the spot", said Derrick Pope from his Galveston, Texas home.
Pope is 6'0" 223 pounder from Galveston Ball high by way of Garden City Junior College in Kansas. He runs a 4.45 forty, benches 405 and squats 555.

"It wasn't a hard decision. It is a great program. My uncle (Kenith) is a coach there."
From his inside linebacker position, Pope led Garden City to the National Championship game last season (11-1 record). Pope registered 121 tackles, 17 sacks, 1 interception and 2 fumble recoveries for touchdowns of 45 and 52 yards.
