Skyler DeLong, three-star kicker from Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill, South Carolina, didn't wait too long to think about his offer from the University of Alabama. Despite his commitment to Tennessee, he was ready to commit to the Crimson Tide.

"I loved the campus and the opportunity to play for legendary head coach (Nick Saban)," DeLong said. "It was just a great opportunity and felt like home.

"It means a lot for me and my family to be committed. It's a dream come true to be playing for the University of Alabama."

DeLong earned the offer from Alabama after punting in front of the Tide coaches at the special teams camp two weekends ago.

"I talked to Coach Saban last night," he said. "He was very excited and glad for me to be a part of the team. He asked if I was interested in coming in early. I said I would have to talk to my parents about it."

JK Scott is one of the best punters in the country. The Tide's key player the last three years will graduate, and DeLong will enter.

"He is a great punter," DeLong said. "The best in college football. I am excited.

"I would like to say I wouldn't be here without my kicking coach, Dan Orner. I work with him three-four times a week. My punt average is nearly 41 yards per punt. I had several punts inside the 10. My best punt was 64 yards."

Will the former Tennessee commitment now take additional visits?

"I plan on taking an official visit to Bama," he said. "Bama is my school. I'm done with my recruiting process."
