Alabama remains unanimous No. 1 in both polls
TUSCALOOSA, Ala — Fresh off a 45-7 victory over rival Tennessee, Alabama will head into its bye week as the unanimous No. 1 team in college football. The Crimson Tide (8-0, 5-0 in the SEC) earned every first-place vote in both the Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Top 25 released Sunday, keeping its status as the undisputed top team in the nation.
Alabama claimed all 61 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 while taking all 64 first-place votes in the Coaches Poll. Following Alabama in the AP Top 25 is No. 2 Penn Stat, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 TCU and No. 5 Wisconsin. The Coaches poll has an identical top five.
Four SEC teams were represented in the AP Top 25 with No. 1 Alabama leading the way followed by No. 3 Georgia, No. 19 Auburn and No. 23 LSU. Five SEC teams made the Coaches Poll as No. 1 Alabama leads the way followed by No. 3 Georgia, No. 19 Auburn, No. 23 LSU and No. 24 Texas A&M.
After its bye this week Alabama will host LSU (6-2, 3-1) on Nov. 4 at a time yet to be determined. The Tigers will also have a bye before traveling to Tuscaloosa next week.
