Don't Miss! Bone's 10 Recruiting Thoughts!

Slade Bolden, four-star athlete from West Monroe High School in Louisiana, took an official visit to Alabama this weekend. Bolden committed to Alabama after impressing during the summer.

"Bama is just a wonderful place," Bolden said. "They never disappoint. It's always mind blowing every time. I had a wonderful time. They really care about you up there and treat you well. I was very thankful. I had a really good time.

"My parents and I went on the visit. We went right after my game. We got there around 4:00 a.m. It was tough, but we managed. We slept through breakfast. My parents loved it. They loved it when I went for the summer camp. We had a wonderful time. They love the fact I have an opportunity to play there. They know I will be treated really well."

Bolden went in-depth on his weekend in Tuscaloosa.

"We started off the day by going to the academic side of things," he said. "We got some information there. We went to eat at Rama Jama's. You have to eat there of course. We toured the campus a little bit, and went to the President's mansion. That was really cool. I am a history guy. That was a cool experience.

"We then went back to the facility. We did some pre-game stuff. We did a photo shoot. We went through the media stuff. I might go in Communications one day. For right now, I plan on going into Business.

"We watched the team walk through before we ate. It was cool to see all the fans supporting the players. They started playing Sweet Home Alabama. That's the anthem there. It was really cool.

"I had Denzal Devall and a couple of assistants who took me around. I hung out with Mac Jones. He is a really cool guy. The next morning, we went to Coach Saban's house and had breakfast. We saw the lake and his boat. We met with the coaches back at the facility had some lunch and then we went home."

Bolden is one of the best athletes in the South. It's no surprise he enjoyed seeing the Tide's offense go to work against the Rebels.

"The thing I was impressed with the most is how we spread the ball out," Bolden said. "It helps when you put teams away so early, but in the beginning of the game they spread the ball around. I know in this offense coach (Daboll) is getting the ball in a lot of guys hands.

"It's such a great atmosphere. It's real classy there. It's a different atmosphere from other colleges. It's real loud. It's just real classy. That's how West Monroe is, so I really like it."

The time spent at Coach Saban's house on Sunday was eye-opening for Bolden who saw a different side of his future head coach.

"My favorite part was going over to Coach Saban's house," he said. "I loved it. It was a great time. Coach Saban is pretty funny. People think he's mean. He has a good sense of humor. He is a personal guy. He really is. He showed us a good time."

Bolden wasn't the only official visitor in Tuscaloosa. He spent time recruiting a few other top targets.

"I talked to Justin Fields and Emil Ekiyor. I like both of those guys. Tommy (Brown) and I were doing some recruiting ourselves. I know both of them really enjoyed it."

So what position with Bolden play once he arrives in T-Town?

"Coach Locksley talked to me about what they plan on doing with me," he said. "They can motion me in the backfield or put me in the slot. They can find some mis-matches. They have been looking for a guy like that, and they found one. I can do both as far as running or receiving. I can do anything they need me to do."

Bolden expects to return to Alabama for the LSU, game and probably the Tennessee game.
