Alabama currently has the No.1 recruiting class in the country according to Rivals! We take a look at what makes the class special and how it can get better before signing day (December and February).

Biggest need met?

The last two years has been somewhat of a head scratcher for the Crimson Tide on the d-line front. Lets remember Alabama has been through some coaching changes at the position from elite DL coach/recruiter Bo Davis to NFL coach Karl Dunbar to Coach Kool. Alabama has missed on a few top guys the last few years, but not so much this cycle. Alabama is clicking on all cylinders and could add a few more at the position. Think about how good this DL class- Alfano, Justin Eboigbe, Byron Young, Braylen Ingraham, DJ Dale. Five guys Alabama strongly wanted in this class. Alabama class would have an A ranking if this is how it ended. It won't end this way. Alabama can add at least another DL or possibly two. There is a lot to be excited about with this DL class.

Most surprising commitment? Shane Lee

I think there were a few surprise commitments in this class. Not just Lee. However, his commitment was a little bit of a stunner at the time of his announcement. We had not discussed Lee as a possibility prior to his trip to Tuscaloosa in the spring. He committed to Alabama shortly after the visit. He was a pleasant surprise to Alabama's class, but also unexpected. I think he also caught Alabama a little off-guard by his sudden commitment. Many felt like he would stay a little closer to home. Alabama continues to strike gold in the DMV.
