There is close to a month before the Tide takes the field against Notre Dame, but there's plenty of college football to keep you busy during the lead up to the BCS National Championship Game.

While games like the Cotton and Fiesta bowls will be intriguing in their own right, we're giving you a little something extra to keep matchups like the BBVA Compass and Little Caesar's bowls interesting.

Signup for the TideSports.com Yahoo! bowl pick'em contest for a chance to win a limited edition mini helmet commemorating Alabama's 14th national championship win over LSU last season in New Orleans. The helmet comes with a protective display case and a certificate of authenticity -- only 2,012 were made.

We're picking games using confidence points, so the more faith you have that one team will win, the more points you attribute to the game.

Click the link to enter the competition and make your selections. You will need to log in with a Yahoo, Google or Facebook account and use your TideSports.com screen name to name your selection sheet. Again, make sure you use your screen name for your selection so that we can identify you if you win. The password for the competition is tidesportspickem2012

Brian, are the picks based off of point spreads or just to win outright? Thanks

The picks are based off of confidence points, meaning if you have full confidence in Florida State over NIU you can put them at the top of the list with 35 points. If FSU wins, you get 35 points. If you have no idea about TAMU and Oklahoma, you can give them a low point bet. If you give Texas A&M a 6, then that means if TAMU wins you only get six points, but if they lose you're only losing out on 6 points.

What Brian said, plus, winners only. Point spreads aren't involved here.

The window is open. What issue are you having? Email moderators@tidesports.com if you'd like.

Nevermind, I got it. Leave it to Yahoo to make it something as unintuitive as having to click your own username....
