BIG DOGS HUNT LATE
Some top national prospects have yet to announce their decisions and will reveal their choices today. All have been heavily recruited by the Crimson Tide and may well join Alabama's signing class.
Eddie Vanderdoes is a 5-star defensive tackle, 6-3 and 310 pounds, from Placer, Cal., whom Alabama has made a strong, late push for. Vanderdoes is also being heavily recruited by Notre Dame, Southern Cal and UCLA. Signing time: 7 p.m.
A'Shawn Robinson is a five-star defensive tackle from Fort Worth (Texas) Arlington Heights who is expected to sign with the Crimson Tide. Word of Robinson's intentions has only gotten out over the last week or so, but he is still being recruited by other schools, including Texas. Signing time: 3 p.m.
Dee Liner of Muscle Shoals High is one of the nation's top defensive linemen. Formerly committed to Auburn, he recently re-opened his recruitment and the Crimson Tide is now believed to be the Rivals.com four-star recruit's likely destination. Signing time: 11 a.m. (TV: ESPNU).
Alvin Kamara, a four-star running back from Norcross, Ga., will choose between Alabama and his home-state school, Georgia. Kamara is believed to be leaning toward the Crimson Tide, and comes from a school where Alabama has recruited successfully in the past. Signing time: 2:35 p.m. (TV: ESPNU)
Defensive back Antonio Conner could sign with either Ole Miss or Alabama. The four-star recruit would be the first UA player from Batesville (Miss.) South Panola since RB Jeramie Griffin. Signing time: 9:45 a.m. (TV: ESPNU)
KEEP AN EYE ON…
These recruits have been recruited by the Crimson Tide, but are more likely to sign elsewhere.
Laremy Tunsil is a Rivals.com 5-star offensive lineman from Lake City (Fla.) Columbia, generally considered the nation's top prospect at his position. Tunsil has been a priority for Alabama for months, but is expected to sign with Ole Miss or Georgia. Signing time: 8:35 a.m. (TV: ESPNU)
Matthew Thomas is a 5-star linebacker from Miami Washington whom Alabama has had its eye on, but Thomas is expected to choose from among Miami, Florida State and Georgia. Signing time: 8:15 a.m. (TV: ESPNU).
Montravius Adams is a five-star defensive tackle from Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County. Alabama has maintained strong contact with Adams, but most experts expect the 290-pounder to land with Georgia, Auburn or Clemson. Signing time: 8:45 a.m. (TV: ESPNU)
Jarran Reed is a 305-pound nose guard from East Mississippi Community College who made a late visit to Alabama. He could be part of the Crimson Tide's class. Signing time: 2 p.m.
Defensive back Vonn Bell is a five-star prospect whom Alabama courted into late January. Look for Bell to sign with Tennessee or Ohio State. Signing time: 9:05 a.m. (TV: ESPNU)
