Georgia football is going into the state of Tennessee to take one of the top recruits in the country.
Out of Nashville Christian School, five-star quarterback Jared Curtis is headed to Tennessee's SEC rival.
He is the No. 8 overall player in the country, top-ranked player in the state and No. 4 quarterback in the cycle.

Curtis' recruitment ultimately came down to Georgia and the Big10's Oregon. He decided to stay in SEC country with the Bulldogs.
He was previously committed to Georgia, as well. He was a commit with UGA from March 23, 2024, to October 17, 2024, before reopening his recruitment.
He ultimately decided to return to his previous commitment on May 5, 2025.
Despite his proximity to Tennessee, the Vols were not very involved in his recruitment. That's primarily because Tennessee grabbed the commitment of the top quarterback on its board.
Five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon has been committed to UT since August 3, 2024. He is the top-ranked quarterback on Rivals in 2026 class and No. 2 overall player in the cycle.
Even after Rivals refreshed its rankings on Monday, Brandon stayed atop the group of elite signal callers.
With Brandon ranked No. 1 and Curtis No. 4 at the position, there are two quarterbacks between the SEC commits. At No. 2, Ryder Lyons out of California is currently undecided.
At No. 3, Keisean Henderson has been committed to Houston since May of 2024. The Texan saw his recruitment explode at the beginning of the year, going from a four-star inside the top 100 to a top 10 recruit and five-star.
This makes Brandon and Curtis the top two quarterbacks headed to the SEC at this point. While the Vols and Bulldogs have met on the gridiron every season since 1992, there is no guarantee Brandon and Curtis matchup early in their tenures.
Currently, the SEC is on an eight-game schedule with teams playing one team every year and seven on a rotation. This is due to the addition of Texas and Oklahoma which eliminated the use of divisions within the conference.
With Tennessee and Georgia no longer sharing real estate in the SEC East, the current format would mean there is no game between the teams in 2026 or 2027, the first two years of those quarterbacks' college careers.
If the system remains the same, they could be in line to meet late in their careers when it is more likely they'd be starters, though. There is also talks of adding a ninth SEC game to schedules which would make it three permanent opponents and six on rotation.
It is unclear which three would be attached to Tennessee, but likely opponents still probably wouldn't include the Bulldogs. Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky and Florida all likely have better cases to be one of the three schools.
With Georgia cementing itself as one of the powerhouses of the conference, you can't rule out the Vols meeting Curtis and company in SEC Championship or College Football Playoff games, either.
