Tide names MVP, team captains

BIRMINGHAM | A day after defeating Georgia in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game in Atlanta, the University of Alabama football team was in Birmingham on Sunday for the team's annual awards banquet and The Cahaba Grand Conference Center.
Junior linebacker C.J. Mosley was named the Most Valuable Player while Damion Square, Chance Warmack and Barrett Jones were named permanent team captains.

Alabama coach Nick Saban addressed an audience that included members of the team, coaching staff, administration and support staff following the awards session in which he recapped the 2012 season and stated the goals for the upcoming BCS National Championship Game against Notre Dame on Jan. 7.
