For Alabama to beat Clemson
1. Establish the running game early
Alabama had success moving the ball on the ground in last season’s national championship game, piling up 221 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries, an average of 6.5 yards per attempt. However, after Bo Scarbrough left the game with a broken leg in the third quarter the Crimson Tide shied away from the run and its offense began to sputter.
