Joshua McMillon called Alabama his dream school during a visit to Tuscaloosa last month.
That means today is a dream fulfilled.
The Rivals250 linebacker committed to the Crimson Tide during a ceremony at Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tenn. on Friday morning. He chose Alabama over Auburn, Michigan and Ole Miss.
McMillon, a 6-foot-3, 246-pound stopper who has played defensive end and linebacker in high school, is the 21st commitment and second linebacker in Alabama's 2015 class, joining three-star Florence, Ala. product Keaton Anderson.
McMillon, who also held offers from programs like Florida State, Ohio State and several others, is rated as the No. 9 inside linebacker in the nation, the No. 223 overall player in the nation and the sixth-best prospect in the state of Tennessee.
On the field, he helped Whitehaven to a 9-2 season and a Class 6A playoff berth last season. Off the field, McMillon carries a 4.3 grade point average.
"Alabama stands pretty high with me right now especially with them being my dream school," McMillon said after his last visit to Tuscaloosa in July. Following that visit, he canceled a trip to visit Michigan. "It was a really big deal to me after speaking with (linebacker) Denzell Devall and (defensive coordinator) Kirby Smart. I was excited after I left. My dad was too. Every time I go down there it's great hospitality. It's an A in my book."
