TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama’s defense was dealt a major blow Sunday, as linebackers Terrell Lewis and Christian Miller are expected to miss the rest of the season due to injury, according to a report from AL.com.

Miller, who is listed as a starter at Sam linebacker on the Crimson Tide’s depth chart reportedly suffered torn biceps, while Lewis tore a ligament in his elbow. The report states Lewis is expected to undergo surgery on Tuesday.

During Saturday night’s 24-7 win over No. 3 Florida State, Lewis tallied five tackles, including one for a loss, while Miller recorded three tackles with one for a loss. Following the game, Alabama head coach Nick Saban listed both players as “very questionable.”

Starting inside linebacker Rashaan Evans also missed the second half with a groin injury, while starting Jack linebacker Anfernee Jennings left early with a sprained ankle.

Alabama will play Fresno State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
