Alabama has been busy on the recruiting trail since the Crimson Tide’s season came to an end with a loss in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Day. Coach Kalen DeBoer finished 9-4 in his first season in Tuscaloosa and is looking to build on his Year 1 output both on the field and the recruiting trail after signing the No. 4 Class in 2025.
The Tide currently has one commit in the Class of 2026, four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson. However, the staff is wasting no time identifying and strengthening relationships with players who could join its 2026 group.
Alabama wrapped up the latest contact period in the 2026 cycle with a successful Junior Day that saw a bevy of top underclassmen on campus. The Tide will now navigate a dead period from Feb. 3 – March 2. Coaches won’t be allowed to go out on the trail and players cannot visit campus. However, coaches will speak to targets via call, text and FaceTime.
Alabama will spend the next few weeks staying in touch with targets and setting up visits in the spring. A few targets have already made plans, including securing official visits. Alabama is also a finalist for two elite recruits set to announce their commitments in the coming weeks.
Here are the latest updates for Alabama on the recruiting trail from the past seven days (Feb. 6 — Feb. 12).
