Randolph revisits college commitment

Kendall Randolph, four-star offensive tackle from Bob Jones High School in Madison, Alabama, revealed his commitment on Sunday. He re-visited his announcement on Thursday.

"I knew the day of the barbecue (Champions Cook-out)," said Randolph. "I told the coaches that day. Coach Key was excited. He said he really looks forward to working with me.

"I prayed on it and talked to my family about it for a long time to decide which school I wanted to go to. It came down to Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. I kept talking to my parents about it. It felt like the right fit for me."

Randolph will continue the family legacy in Tuscaloosa. This time not on abasketball court. He will become part of Nick Saban's process.

"I love how they graduate their students and football players," he said. "They are like an extra NFL team. They get you ready for the NFL. You are NFL-ready when you leave Alabama.

"My family is excited about my decision. My dad and bothers are really happy. My little brother is most excited. He is the biggest Alabama fan I know."

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman is open to play any position.

"They recruited me as a guard or tackle," Randolph said. "I am comfortable playing wherever the coaches need me whether it's on offense or defense. I'll pay whenever they need me to get the job done."

Randolph has yet to decide if he will take additional visits.

"I am focused on Alabama," he said. "We have a strong class. We have some great players committed like Alex (Leatherwood) and VanDarius (Cowan). We are going to have a really strong class in 2017.

"I have been talking to LaBryan Ray, Monty Rice and Isaiah Wilson. Those are a few guys I have kept in communication with. Hopefully, we can get them. I will be telling them the same thing I see at Alabama."
