Pierce Quick, Rivals100 offensive tackle from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, took a final visit to Alabama this past weekend before enrolling as a student. The highly-talented lineman raved about the food and much more.

"It was an awesome weekend," Quick said. "I didn’t expect it to be that much different because I have been there a 1000 times. It was really good though. It was even better for my parents so they could get reassurance before I head down there.

"The No. 1 highlight of the visit was the food. My favorite was probably the first night. We went to Five. It was so good. My dad made a joke. He said it was like we were on a cruise ship without the water. There was so much food. We ate every three hours. We loved it.

"Mac Hereford was my host. That was a lot of fun. We have been pretty close for a year now. He is from Birmingham. We hung out a bunch. He is a super cool guy. It was fun to hang out with him and some of the other players."

Quick is well established as one of top 'recruiters' of the Nick Saban era at Alabama. He talked about the big commitments on Saturday night.

"It was always great because I was around most of the commitments," he said. "It was good to hang out with those guys and build a close relationship with them. Getting Scooby (Carter) on board was huge. He told me at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning after his visit with Coach Saban. I gave him a big hug. We were so excited.

"We were in the hotel lobby getting read to go to Bryant-Denny Stadium for the uniform thing (see pic above). One of the recruiting girls walked up to me and said, 'We just got Daxton Hill.' Everyone started going crazy. I told Scooby, and he was like 'are you serious?' He waited because he wanted to take a picture and then tweet it out. It was just awesome."

Quick has been close with Alabama offensive line coach Brent Key throughout the last three years. He also talks with Nick Saban on every visit. This trip was more about spending time with Coach Cochran.

“My best meeting out of all of them was with Coach Cochran," he said. "My family and I met with him on Saturday morning. It was really good to sit down and talk to him about the strength program and all that stuff.

"We talked to him a lot. My meeting with Coach Saban was good. I am moving in early. I am actually moving in on Wednesday and starting practice this weekend. We just talked about the expectations and stuff like that."

The fun and joy of experience as a recruit is now finished. It's now time for Quick to become a student-athlete at the University of Alabama.

“I loved it," Quick said of the recruiting process. "I wouldn't trade it for anything. One of the best times of my life. One thing I would say is the best thing I did was committing early. Never much stress. I got to really enjoy it and have fun.

"I knew where I was going the whole time. I never worried about who commits where. Bama was where I was going the whole time."
