Pierce Quick, Rivals100 offensive tackle from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, grew up wanting to play football for the University of Alabama. The opportunity was presented more than year ago, and he gave an early commitment to the Tide's head coach, Nick Saban.

The scholarship offers have continued to arrive as Quick is considered one of the best in the country at his position. He has taken a few visits to other schools, but there was never a doubt where he would spend his college career.

Quick wants to also help take on a recruiting role to assist in building his class prior to the start of the season.

"I just decided I've seen all the schools I wanted to see," he said. "I am going to try to recruit other guys now to join us. It definitely feels like a weight lifted off my shoulders. A lot of schools were still recruiting me. I told them all I am shutting it down. I am going to Alabama."

How did Alabama take Quick's decision to turn into a lead recruiter instead of taking additional visits?

"I was down there this weekend," he said. "I told Coach Saban I was going to do it. They didn't have a true leader in the class last year throughout most of the year. I feel great and excited to be able to take on that role. I can help make the class incredible. I am happy I went ahead and did it now."

Quick has his eyes set on several key Crimson Tide targets.

"Right now, I am recruiting guys like Clay Webb, Jaylen McCollough, Jackson Lowe, Amari Kight, Paul (Tyson) and D.J. Dale," he said. "I have a bunch of other guys I am going to recruit. I have a whole list of top guys. Those are some of the main ones.

"There are a lot of guys in the Birmingham area who have offers this year. Coach Lupoi is now recruiting Shelby County. I am happy he is recruiting our area. I think it will be great.

"What I found out recently is there is only one Birmingham guy currently on scholarship at Alabama-Quinnen Williams. There are a lot of great in-state players this year. A lot of guys from around here."

Quick spoke about his return trip to Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

"It's the eighth or ninth time I've been down there this year," he said. "It's always great to go back down there and see everyone. There were a good bit of recruits on campus the last two weekends. A ton from in-state.

"It's was great to be able to spend more time with the coaches. It's always great getting to talk to them. I am just more relaxed. We never really even talk about football."
