TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Nineteen former Alabama athletes took turns going through reps and workouts in front of NFL Scouts during the Crimson Tide’s Pro Day on Wednesday.

Not one of them was named Jalen Hurts or Tua Tagovailoa.

Nevertheless, as they are bound to do several times this spring, the two current Alabama quarterbacks found their way into the discussion.

In fact, the quarterback conversation wasn’t even slipped in decrepitly but rather asked to former Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley point blank: “Who’s going to win the starting quarterback job this year?”

“I wish I was playing here to tell you, but I ain’t here. I don’t know,” Ridley said. “They’re going to find some way to get both of those great football players to be playing and helping this team.”

Ridley later joked that Alabama developed a pretty good formula during its 26-23 overtime win over Georgia in the College Football National Championship Game.

“We’ll just put in Jalen for now, put Tua in for the second half,” he said with a smile. “Just do it all year like that.”

In reality, it most likely won't be that simple.
