Michael Hollins, three-star running back from University Lab School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, had an impressive junior campaign. He helped his team capture the Class 3A state championship.

Hollins rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns in the title game and earned MVP honors. He was first team All-State after rushing for 1,571 yards and 34 touchdowns.

He collected his first offer last summer from Utah. He received several others since including Memphis, SMU, Tulane and Tulsa. Alabama jumped on board a few days ago when he attended the Crimson Tide's Junior Day.

"It was a great visit," Hollins said. "Christian (Harris) was there with me. They had already offered him. They wanted me to visit to see if I had any interest in the program. It's definitely the best program I've been to. They topped everything.

"I talked to Coach Burns. He moved to an off-the-field role, but our relationship hasn't changed. I talked to Coach Saban. He said he wants me to come to camp this summer. He hasn't had a chance to see me in action in person yet."

The 5-foot-10, 200-pound back described Alabama as a "dream offer."

"It really didn't hit me until after the visit," Hollins said. "I just like the prestige of the program. I didn't know how much they excelled academically. I learned about how they have the best graduation rate in the SEC. They also had 25 players with degrees play in their bowl game which was the most in the country. That impressed me."

Alabama and Utah are a few early favorites for the Louisiana native. He plans to take several visits throughout the spring and summer.
