Michael Parker, three-star tight end from Westminster Christian in Huntsville, Alabama, announced his commitment on Wednesday morning to the Crimson Tide.
"They offered me a couple of weeks ago," Parker said. "I really knew it was home and where I wanted to be. It's been hectic. I wanted to step back and think about it. I knew that's where I needed to be. I went ahead and committed."
"I called Coach Pannunzio to commit last night. He was very excited. He's been texting me almost every day. He was really excited. I haven't talked to Coach Saban yet. I am hoping to get down there pretty soon. "
Auburn heavily recruited Parker and was the first in-state school to offer. He is happy to live out his dream and play for the Crimson Tide.
"Obviously, it's been my dream my entire life to play there," he said. "I have been going to games there as long as I can remember. I like Coach Pannuzio. I know a lot of the players from being down there with my brothers. I have built friendships with guys down there."
"It was definitely tough for sure. It was tough at first. Auburn was the favorite for a while, but then I got to see my dream come true."
The 6-foot-6, 235-pound athlete hauled in 43 receptions for 812 yards and nine touchdowns during his senior season.
"I am always going to work hard," Parker said. "I am a tough player. Those are probably the main two things. I never want to be outworked. I always want to be the toughest player on the field."
