University of Alabama junior forward Nick King is undergoing treatment for a lung infection and will not return to action at least until January, UA head coach Avery Johnson said on Wednesday.

"I met with the doctors and with Nick this morning," Johnson said. "Right now, they are treating him with aggressively with antibiotics. The goal is to release him so he can go home (to Memphis) for Christmas, then come back for another extensive round of testing and further treatment. After that, we hope he can be released to our strength and conditioning staff to get back into shape to play. We have no timetable on when he will return to the court."

King, a transfer from the University of Memphis who sat out last season, has played in seven games this year, starting two. He averaged 3.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in those games.

"He started feeling bad on our trip to Las Vegas (where UA played Valparaiso and Saint Louis in the MGM Main Event Tournament). By the time we got home from Texas, he felt terrible. He had lost 15 pounds in a week, so they began testing and determined that he had a lung infection."
