OKLAHOMA

Signed: Spencer Rattler (Rivals Rating: 6.1)

Two straight Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks and the Sooners are getting the top-ranked quarterback in the 2019 class. Rattler has a lot of the same traits as Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray and Lincoln Riley’s offense should continue to put up outrageous numbers with Rattler at the helm. He did a great job at the All-American Bowl in January and was impressive in almost every setting.

Rattler went back and forth with Bo Nix as the highest-ranked quarterback in the Rivals100 throughout this recruiting cycle but there was clear separation between the two at the end.

AUBURN

Signed: Bo Nix (Rivals Rating: 6.1)

Nix is a big, strong quarterback with a high football IQ and natural leadership skills. Auburn has plenty of playmakers at the skill positions and Nix has shown the ability to quickly and accurately deliver the ball to the right receiver so they can pick up yards after the catch.

Nix, who was ranked as the top quarterback in the Rivals100 at a couple points in this recruiting cycle, has a chance to play early at Auburn and the Tigers are hoping he’ll be able to take over quickly. He is the highest rated quarterback to sign with Auburn since Cam Newton came out of junior college in 2010.

WISCONSIN

Signed: Graham Mertz (Rivals Rating: 6)

The expectations for Mertz at Wisconsin are high because he is the highest-ranked quarterback to ever sign with the Badgers. Mertz is a technically sound quarterback with a big arm that throws an accurate ball.

The balanced attack at Wisconsin will give Mertz plenty of opportunities to find open receivers down the field. All through the camp season and his senior campaign, Mertz showed he has the skillset to make defenses pay for not being in the right position.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Signed: Ryan Hilinski (Rivals Rating: 6)

South Carolina fans are very excited about Hilinski and rightfully so. A strong quarterback with a ton of confidence in his arm, the Californian can fit the ball into tight windows and throw downfield.

Hilinski is the highest-rated quarterback to ever sign with South Carolina and can make some outstanding plays with his arm outside of the pocket even though he doesn’t have the cleanest throwing motion. He should help the Gamecocks open up their offense and become less predictable.

ALABAMA

Signed: Paul Tyson (Rivals Rating: 5.8) and Tualia Tagovailoa (Rivals Rating 5.8)

Tyson and Tagovailoa aren’t the next highest-ranked quarterbacks but the combination of the two of them is enough to put Alabama fifth on this list. Both Tyson, Bear Bryant’s great-grandson, and Tagovailoa, Tua Tagovailoa’s younger brother, committed to Alabama in April and neither wavered on their commitment.

Tyson is a big quarterback that stands in the pocket and delivers an accurate ball while Tagovailoa can make more plays with his feet and push the ball downfield. Neither of them are finished products and will face a learning curve before seeing significant time on the field but each possesses plenty of physical gifts.
