Alabama football players are set to report to campus this week after SEC presidents and chancellors voted to allow voluntary in-person athletic activities on campus beginning on June 8. After bringing in 13 early enrollees in January, the Crimson Tide is also set to welcome in the 12 summer arrivals of its 2020 class.
Here’s a look at each of the new freshmen joining Alabama.
Brian Branch has one of the best chances at instant playing time among Alabama’s summer arrivals. The ball-hawking safety is known for his acrobatic, one-handed catches both as a receiver and as a defensive back. During his senior season of high school, he pulled in 60 receptions for 1,107 yards and 14 touchdowns while registering 40 tackles and six interceptions on defense.
Branch recently told BamaInsider that Alabama is planning on starting him off at the Star position as well as free safety. The Crimson Tide has needs in both areas as it looks to replace four starters from last year’s secondary.
